Behind the Brand: Our New Packaging

I have been working on a project behind the scenes for several months now, and I am finally ready to share it with you.

We have officially rolled out our new packaging! This update is about more than just a new box; it is the biggest piece of a brand refresh!

For a long time, the experience of our candles really started once you opened the box. Now, I want it to start the moment you see it on a shelf. This rollout is the biggest piece of a brand refresh that has been happening behind the scenes for months.

This brand has grown so much from the days of me making candles in my kitchen and lining them up on the countertops. Back then, my focus was just on making the candle well and getting it out the door. But as we started moving into more boutiques and shops, I realized the outside of the brand needed to catch up to the quality of what was inside.

The heart of this refresh is the arrival of our new custom boxes for both one-wick and three-wick candles. I wanted the look to be cohesive, so the front design stays consistent across both sizes. Whether they are sitting together or on their own, they finally feel like they belong together.

I spent months obsessing over the specific details that make these feel right.

The color is a soft, creamy neutral with just a tiny hint of blush. It is a warm tone that changes a bit depending on the light. I wanted it to feel calm and sophisticated, not flat.

I also spent a lot of time on the texture. The logo is pressed into the box with a depth you can actually feel under your fingers. It needed to feel as high quality as the candle it holds.

We also cleaned up the fonts and the spacing to give the design more breathing room. The goal was never to add more stuff, but to choose better elements that reflect the look I love: clean and simple, but still warm and traditional.

This wasn’t about making something brand new just for the sake of change. It was about alignment.

With my background in communications, I have always been interested in how people see things and the first impression a brand makes. I’ve always had a strong sense of how I want something to feel, even before I can fully see it. I knew the original boxes served their purpose, but they didn't quite tell the whole story of what this brand has become.

The candles themselves are hand-poured and finished with gold leaf. They are intentional and thoughtful, and I wanted the packaging to reflect that same level of care. Now, when someone sees our candles in a shop for the very first time, the brand can stand on its own.

We are moving through this transition one step at a time. While we wait for the one-wick and three-wick boxes to land in the studio, our six-wick candles are still a work in progress. Because of their size and weight, we are approaching them differently. For now, those larger candles still feature the simple ribbon styling that many of you know, and I like that we can evolve in stages.

This evolution has been a personal shift for me, too. I find myself leaning toward simpler choices and focusing on the details that actually matter. There is a quiet confidence that comes with finally seeing the product, the packaging, and the brand all start to speak the same language.

I don’t think I’ll ever be done refining things, but this moment feels significant. I can't wait to have these in my hands and, more importantly, in yours very soon.
